Why Waltzing 2.0?
With our Waltzing 2.0 we want to combine the old with the new. The old tradition of craft with the modern digital world. For us photography and writing ist artisanry. Not long ago waltzing was a normal thing. People travelled and worked to learn more about their profession and to grow personally. Waltzing was a qualification to get the title of master craftsman.
2.0 points to the world wide web or the ‚internet‘. Where content is king or queen or whatever. Somehow it seems to be important. But good content is also hard work. Apart from doing good work and deliver good content we also want to show that it is indeed work and craft. And that good things take their time.
Nowadays any creative output is supposed to be free of charge. A wine producer is looking for new design for his labels on the wine bottles. Somebody else wants a picture for free for her new book. Any other costs are budgeted. The printing company of the book is paid as well as the producer of the wine bottles. Only the creative person should work for free. We want to point to this drawback. When people see how complex it is to make good quality they will pay decent money for it in the future.
On different occasions we met people from touristic platforms which complained about the difficulties to get good quality content for their sites like good photos and describing texts. Agencies fill up social media channels with marketing phrases. But where are the emotional stories and anecdotes? We want to tell those stories. For those stories we have to be longer at one place. The quick press tour, where invited journalists have to visit the ten best but also already well known places on one day won’t do the trick. We are convinced that every part of the world has something to offer and a story to tell. Even if the inhabitants do not realize it any more. We will discover something with our fresh and new and curious look! And we will process our discoveries in a good old manner. Word!
