This week we did not need to change hotels. That meant we did not have to pack our suitcases, travel and unpack again. We stayed at the hotel in Rathen. Pure luxury!
On sunday we had some difficulties with our schedule but managed anyway to meet a very inspiring person: Sven-Erik Hitzer. The Bioneer of Schmilka, he is called. We had a very nice talk and we are very thankful that we met him. We got together at the chocolate manufactory where we had a fantastic frothed hot cocoa. Unfortunately we could not visit the production later…
On Monday we have been in Wehlen and visited the biker’s church and the small Saxon Switzerland. Here a stone-cutter works and builds miniatures of the saxon sandstone mountains. And we met the instigator of the mile of art. There are 5 artists working and living there.

Tuesday Achim gave away the secrets of lightroom to a handful of interested people. The rest of the day we spent in our little office doing paperwork. This week it was tremendous nerve wrecking as we had to struggle with a very annoying issue. Very very disgusting!
In the evening we went to the other side of the Elbe to photograph Rathen during the blue hour and at night. During that event I lost my iphone in the meadows but found it later. Uack! That would have been really stupid! It is my main working device. I surely need a safety line. If you know something, tell me about it!
Wednesday was all about training. In the morning Achim held a workshop about photography and the use of pictures in tourism. And in the afternoon I held social media consultation hour where we talked about many different things.
On Thursday we went hiking again. This time we started from our hotel at Rathen. First we went up to the small Bastei (Kleine Bastei) and to the rhododendrons park. After that we took the way right in the middle of Rathen to the Bastei. Both are very nice tracks with beautiful spots. But here nothing is really boring. In the afternoon we went to Hohnstein to the castle and tried to visit the Punchinello carver. Unfortunately nobody was there.

Finally we were drawn to the way to the Brand and we walked a little while there. Incredibly romantic. After that we went to Gohrisch. The evening we spent at the organic restaurant ‚Strandgut‘ in Schmilka. We also got a tour around the village and learned a lot about the ecological plans for it.

Friday was again a hiking day. This time we went via the rock stage (Felsenbühne) to the Amselfall. Back we made a junction to the Schwedenlöcher. And for a sweet ending we visited the candy manufactory.

On Saturday we worked the whole day at our computers, edited pictures, wrote blogposts, had our closing meeting and packed our suitcases.
